  • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

    The recently released CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is the newest and most up to date qualifications in the Early Childhood Education Industry.

    This course structure caters for those students who want the convenience of working remotely whilst also being fully supported through out their studies. Statistic show that students who are not supported via remote learning suffer a very high drop out rate. The program is structured to minimise the time taken to achieve their qualification whilst not  compromising quality.

    Students may do this course as an entry pathway into the Early childhood industry. Our CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course is designed to develop multi-skilled workers who are industry ready to enter the broad range of Education and care services supporting the implementation of an approved learning framework, and supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and development.

You will receive hands on training and support ensuring that you have the appropriate knowledge and skills to effectively support the development of children when you commence work in an Early Childhood Education environment.

    A mandatory component of our program is the 180 hours of practical placement, working within an actual Early Childhood environment. Our dedicated Practical Placement Coordinator will secure you a placement and support you through this process.

    The course comprises of 17 units (15 Core and 2 Elective). Successful completion of this course requires the fulfilment of all 17 units of competency. (Including the completion of the First Aid – HLTAID012 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting)

    ZOOM Delivery 
    Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursday & Fridays

    Students are engaged in a trainer led program via Zoom between 9.am – 3.30pm daily. Students will participate in training led by a qualified trainer as well as receive both group and individual support via the use of live ZOOM chats with the trainer who will guide you through the course and assessment work.

    Students are required to participate daily in all scheduled classes. 

    Classroom Workshops 

    Students are required to attend classroom workshops (Perth CBD) spread through out the course (usually Fridays but not every week)  for Assessment Demonstration purposes.

    Childcare Work Placement 

    180 hours of work placement within an approved Childcare facility is mandatory. Students will commence work placement at the completion of their Theory Program  and will need to participate in Practical Placement programs for a duration of 180 hours (Approximately 5 Weeks).
    Dependent on individual work placement requirements but usually between 7.30am and 3.30pm

  • Admission Criteria

    Applicants seeking entry into CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course should meet the following criteria.

    • Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen or an eligible Visa holder living in Western Australia.
    • Successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test.
    • 15 years of age or older, and not enroled at school.
    • Have successfully completed year 10 of secondary school or equivalent or be of mature age.
    • Must be able to produce a clear Working with Children card.
    • As per the Australian Department of Health, all students will need to provide evidence of having two (2) Covid-19 vaccinations, and their booster when eligible.
    • Provide evidence of Funding Eligibility (such as Photo Identification, Medicare, Citizenship, or relevant Visa. Further items of evidence may be required).
    • Under 18 years of age will require an additional notice of arrangement and guardian consent.
    • There are no prerequisite units of competence.
    • Have access to a computer and reliable Internet services.

Candidates may also like to progress to higher level qualifications within the Education and care sector and across the broader community sector.

    The CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care requires the completion of 15 units, however students wishing to enrol in this qualification must have sucesfully completed the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

    This Course is Fee Free in 2023 to all eligible students.

    NOTE: Fees are calculated inline with the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development Fees and Charges Policy 2022.
