Frequently Asked Questions

Now that I have signed up with the AASN and AEATS to undertake my traineeship, what happens next?

Australian Employment and Training Services will provide you with access to your trainer and ongoing support person. Your trainer/assessor will contact you to discuss how the training will work. The student handbook and training plan will provide you with important information to assist with your traineeship journey to reach competency within the chosen Nationally recognised qualification.

How does the training work?

Australian Employment and Training Services will provide you with access to the user-friendly Learning Management System (LMS) where you will access the learning content and resources to assist you. The LMS will also provide you with access to video tutorials designed to give you an overview of the subject areas and how to complete the various assessment activities.

Will I receive any visits in the workplace from my trainer?

Australian Employment and Training Services engage only the highest quality trainers for all the qualifications on scope. Your trainer will visit you on a regular basis within the workplace once the schedule has been developed and confirmed with the host employer and yourself.

Is the online learning system (LMS) easy for me to use?

All AEATS trainees receive guidance and support prior to using this user-friendly system. The online system is fun and interactive with ongoing support from your trainer and support personnel. You will have access through the system to chat with other trainees doing the same course.

How will I be assessed?

The traineeship is a Nationally recognised qualification and assessment is all competency based. If you do not receive competency after your first attempt, you will be provided with further training and the opportunity to be re-assessed. Each and every traineeship qualification is made up of a certain number of Units of Competencies (UoC) For example, a Certificate III in Business Administration comprises of 13 units (subject areas) and each of the 13 units will have assessments that may include – Knowledge quiz or written assessment and demonstrated skills (practical) to be assessed. The practical skills may be assessed in the workplace or in a simulated environment, depending on the requirements. Your assessor may also request for you to complete some basic assignments or projects.

How long will it take me to complete the Traineeship?

All traineeships will include on the job learning/training. The workplace that is hosting your traineeship will work closely together with you and AEATS to discuss your progression. The qualification requirements may stipulate that you complete a certain amount of workplace hours to gain the experience needed to meet the requirements. You will also need to successfully complete all the required units of competencies indicated within the specified qualification. It is possible to complete a Certificate III in Business Administration (example only) within 12 months. The opportunity may be available for you to stay on with the host employer to work fulltime with them.

Can I upskill myself with further courses after my traineeship?

Australian Employment and Training Services can provide you with great advice on choosing the next course to gain higher qualifications by discussing great pathways to continue learning. This will assist you in gaining opportunities towards potential promotion withinhip  the workplace or with other organisations.
