    Individual Support funded throught the Queensland Goverments – Skilled Assured Career Boost program is offers a cluster of training and assessment in a cluster of units determined by industry as being essential skills to work within their relevant industries.

    CHCSS00129 Individual Support – Ageing Skills Set

    A set of skills for providing person-centred support to older people in various settings, within the delegations of an established individualised plan. This skill set is for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or a related field, work in various care and support roles and who wish to develop skills in providing person-centred support to people with disability.

    CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disabillity Skills Set

    A set of skills for providing person-centred support to people with disability in various settings. This skill set is for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or a related field, work in various care and support roles and who wish to develop skills in providing person-centred support to people with disability

    Our specially designed program allows students a broad range of training via online topic focused video recordings, electronic learning material, live five (5) day per week trainer support and  physical classroom support and assessment across our centrally based locations.

    This is a carefully managed program that supports students through their learning journey ensuring they keep on-track and motivated.

    Classroom support is scheduled one (1) day per or as required through our seven (7) central locations at Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Logan, Ipswich, Brisbane, Morton Bay South and the Gold Coast.

    Classroom Support days are scheduled between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

    Flexible Training and Assessment

    Students can determine their own location and timing to complete their theory components utilising the AEATS learning portal. It is anticipated that students should dedicate a minimum of twelve (12) hours per week.

    Our Classroom Support locations are located close to main bus terminal making it highly accessible for most students.

  • Admission Criteria

    Applicants seeking entry into either the CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability or  CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability should meet the following criteria.

    • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
    • Successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy and Digital assessment (LLND) test. 15 years of age or older, and not enroled at school.
    • Not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count).
    • Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
    • Must be able to produce a clear National Police Certificate (When requested).
    • For practical placement, most centers will require students to provide evidence of having two (2) Covid-19 vaccinations, and their booster when eligible.
    • Permanently residing within Queensland.

    The CHCSS00129 Individual Support – Ageing Skill set  is a an idustry focussed set of skills determined by the industry as being core skills. Achievement of these units provides credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package. With an ageing population their is a high demand for care workers in the aged care and associated industries. 

    The CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability Skill set  is a an idustry focussed set of skills determined by the industry as being core skills with the disability sector. Achievement of these units provides credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package. With a large disability population their is a high demand for care workers in the disability and associated industries. 

    Possible Course Pathways

    Once students have completed their qualification at the certificate III level they may decide to continue their studies in the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or candidates may also like to progress to higher level qualifications within the aged care sector and across the community sector.

    The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support requires the completion of 18 units, however for those students who have successfully completed the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support with AEATS, they will be automatically granted credits for 10 of these units.

    AEATS will also recognise credit transfers upon proof of units completed with other RTOs.

  • Eligible Student Co-contribution Fee’s

    •      Concession Co-contibution fee: $25
    •      Non Concession Co-contribution Fee: $50

    Note: Fees are calculated in line with the QLD Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) Career Boost program.

    • Student contribution fees are subject to change given the circumstances at enrolment. Please confirm with the AEATS enrolment team that you have the current course guide.

    Fee Conditions:

    • Eligibility criteria and evidence will be required for all enrolments.
    • Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria are required to enrol as Fee For Service. Please contact AEATS for information about this fee. There is no enrolment opportunity for International Students.
    • The Student Co-contribution fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.

    The following students are entitled to the concession rate on course fees:

    To be eligible for the concession fee, you must be eligible to access subsidised training as well as meet one of the following criteria:

    • Hold a valid Health Care, Card or Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or Veteran’s Affairs
    • Advice from the Department of Education, Training and Employment that Abstudy has been approved
    • Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    • Have a verified disability.

    Proof of eligibility for concession must be provided at the time of enrolment.
